Ryan’s playing the long game because, for Ryan, software development isn’t just a career- it’s a lifelong passion.
Ryan’s journey into coding started early. With a programmer father, he got his first computer at just five years old and taught himself to code by copying programs from magazines- many of which he still owns today. By age 16, he was already working as a professional software developer.
Before joining Red Dog Media, Ryan spent a decade developing software in the hospitality industry, working on custom solutions for hotels and casinos. He even spent a year creating pool design software before an unexpected email from Brett led him to Red Dog Media. At the time, the company had just seven people, and Ryan knew he thrived in small, collaborative teams. That leap turned into an 11-year journey (and counting) with us.
As a Software Engineer, Ryan is about building tools and improving processes that make his teammates’ work more effective and efficient.
Beyond the code, Ryan values Red Dog Media’s culture of support and shared success. He believes that great ideas rise to the top and that every teammate has the potential to make a meaningful impact. He’s seen firsthand how the company invests in its people, fostering an environment where everyone is encouraged to contribute their best.
Outside of work, Ryan’s passion for problem-solving extends to board games, so much so that he owns hundreds of them and even runs the Red Dog Media’s monthly board game club.
